TechTV For Sale

By Deane Barker on August 29, 2003

Paul Allen looking to sell TechTV: I love TechTV. It comprises about 60% of all the time I spend watching TV.

“Paul Allen, the entrepreneur and co-founder of software maker Microsoft Corp., is looking to sell his technology-related cable channel TechTV, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the situation.

TechTV, owned by Allen’s investment firm Vulcan Ventures Inc., is worth $250 million to $300 million, the paper said, citing sources. A TechTV representative was not immediately available to comment to Reuters.”

Best Shows: Future Fighting Machines, Robot Wars, Beyond 2000, Spy School, The Tech Of, Fresh Gear (my son and I have a contest to see who can say “Sumi Das” the fastest) — heck, they’re all good, except for maybe Unscrewed.

And for a guilty, flashback pleasure, who can beat Thunderbirds? For that matter, how can you even entertain the thought of selling a channel that still airs the Thunderbirds? Thunderbirds are GO!, baby, and you’ll be lucky if Lady Penelope doesn’t show up on your front porch to unload an exquisite, pink purse fulla whoop-**s on you.

  1. Unscrewed is fun. It’s geek humor. How many other geek humor night shows are there?

And you have got to be kidding me about Thunderbirds being one of the best things on. Puppets in space are GAY.

  2. I like all the shows on TTV and don’t think it will be sold. And for the Thunderbirds I hope the low tech show gets canned. I agree that the puppets are very (GAY)
