Why did Google bet $1 million on Shweeb?: This is very cool to look at, but I question the practicality.

[…] a system of personal, pedal-powered monorail pods that he hopes can one day become an alternative form of urban transit. With Shweeb, pods hang from an elevated track that, theoretically, would stretch to destinations throughout a city.

I do commend Google for investing in something interesting, though.  This is part of their 10^100 Project.



  1. oh wow this is really cool. but if this ever becomes a form of transportation i wonder how much it’s gonna cost to create the tracks and for a person to buy / use a pod/Shweeb.

  2. This is a really interesting idea, but how donu get in and out of a shweeb? And is there a weight limit?
