Palm Pre Apps: Abolishing the App Store

By Deane Barker on October 6, 2009

Palm fixes WebOS developer program, encourages open source : This is so awesome.  First, you can write apps for the Pre in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.  Second, you will be able to distribute them independent of any app store or catalog.

Palm is preparing to launch the WebOS developer program. The company has announced that developers will be able to distribute applications on the Web and will only have to submit to a review process if they want their software to be made available through the App Catalog.

I’ve had a Pre for three months, and I absolutely love it.  It’s the best single piece of technology I have ever owned.
