Brad Pitt’s Floating House

By Deane Barker on October 6, 2009

Lower 9 floating house unveiled: This home is designed to minimize damage in a flood by floating on top of it.

The base of the home, […] in the event of a flood, “acts as a raft, allowing the house to rise vertically on guide posts, securely floating up to twelve feet as water levels rise,” said Virginia Miller from Morphosis.

The idea for the house is not for the owners to remain during a disaster like Hurricane Katrina, rather to minimize damage in the event of a flood.

I would totally stay in it the whole time…

  1. I don’t know. I smell a lawsuit from Disney coming. I’m sure they can prove that one of their rides already does this which means they own the rights. Brad better have good, no great lawyers.
