Buying more space on GMail

By Deane Barker on August 10, 2007

A friend of mine got within 4% of his Gmail limit. Here’s what happens.

  1. You can upgrade from Settings / Accounts / Add additional storage: on any account. But it seems to me their pricing is kinda high, considering what run-o’-the-mill hosting costs these days.

I doubt my available space will ever get used up; after three years of use, only 2 percent in my account! The available space seems to have topped out at 2,886MB though.

  2. Also, the upgrades appear to also apply to Picasa Web Albums. Nice that they tie them together.

Or is it another sign that Google is out to take over the world’s desktops?
