iPods Have Wheels Now

By Deane Barker on August 4, 2006

Automakers trick out rides with iPods: It will be interesting to see how competition plays out here. I could see Apple getting dominant in this market, and making it hard for anyone else to compete.

In the latest boost to its dominance of portable music players, Apple Computer Inc. has teamed up with General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Mazda Motor Corp. to integrate the iPod into their car audio systems.

I can’t wait for Microsoft to complain: “Hello, Kettle? Yeah, this is Pot. Good, good — I’ve been good. So, anyway, I was just calling to let you know that you’re, well, really black.”

  1. I’ve had the Neo iON for about 5 months now and love it. I didn’t install it myself so can’t say how easy it really is, but the sound quality is great and using the existing stereo controls on the steering wheel is very nice.
