Super Bowl XL Commercials on Google Video: Google Video has all the Super Bowl commercials. The “magic fridge” one had Joe and I rolling with laughter.

  1. The “magic fridge” one had Joe and I rolling with laughter.

I hate to do this (I’m lying, I really love to do this), but:

It’s Joe and me, not Joe and I.

Remember, use whichever one still sounds correct if you take out the second person!

  2. It’s Joe and me, not Joe and I.

When I wrote this, I originally put “me and Joe,” then corrected it. Would “me and Joe” have been correct?

  3. The rule of thumb that I remember from HS is to try the sentence without the other guy. Example: “… had Joe and I rolling with laughter.” Leave out “Joe and” and you get “… had I rolling with laughter.”

If it doesn’t sound right, it’s not.

And the other guy should always go first.

While we’re at it, your post on “D’Marco and I” suffered the same fault. It’s like fingernails on a chalkboard to me sometimes.
