Google at work on desktop Linux: Is it just me, or is this mega wicked huge news? Google + Desktop OS = ??

Google has confirmed it is working on a desktop linux project called Goobuntu, but declined to supply further details, including what the project is for.

  1. I’d heard about the in-house distro before, and the fact that they never planned to release it. But, truth be told, this article had me going until this line: “The origin of the word ‘Goobuntu’ is not clear, though it does not appear in online Zulu dictionaries.”

    That’s when I decided the credibility of the entire article was shot.
