Sunrise: 37signals’ CRM tool for small business is coming soon: A couple of weeks ago, 37 Signals announced their new CRM tool.

Sunrise is a CRM-ish tool for small businesses. We’re aiming to change the small business CRM market with Sunrise in the same way we changed the small business project management and collaboration market with Basecamp.

They were talking about this when Joe and I went to visit them in Summer 2004. Back then they wouldn’t say what it was, but they codenamed it “Cream.” It took people in the workshop about 10 seconds to extract the C, R, and M from the name.

I know I said I wanted to be just like Fog Creek, but being like 37 Signals wouldn’t be bad either. They’ve completely dropped client work, apparently, and just sell subscription software now.

They’re also talking about something called Campfire, but no indication what that is. Does anyone know?

  1. For instant group communications we use Apple iChat, Skype, Adium, and Campfire. For keeping people organized we use Sunrise.

I guess it’s something about group communications ;-)

  2. It looks like an explosion came from underneath. The mounting hole near the socket had sparks coming out from it. Besides, on the CPU-Z screen there wasn’t an close window “x” or anything else on the top right corner.
