Palm and Microsoft

Palm Will Team With Microsoft for the Next Version of the Treo Organizer: Stick a fork in Palm Source, they appear to be done.

Microsoft will achieve one of its longest-held ambitions on Monday when its rival Palm Computing plans to announce that it will use Microsoft’s Windows Mobile software in a new version of its popular cellphone-organizer, the Treo.

Remember that Palm split into a hardware company (still called Palm), and an OS company (called Palm Source). This announcement means that Palm has spurned Palm Source, it’s own sister company, for Microsoft. That’s gotta hurt.
