“…And Get Earth Thrown In”

By on June 28, 2005

The gods at Google are at it again, but they’re only spitting on me; they just released the beta version of Google Earth, but right now it’s a Windows only world.

Fly from space to your neighborhood. Type in an address and zoom right in.
Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions.
Tilt and rotate the view to see 3D terrain and buildings.
Save and share your searches and favorites. Even add your own annotations.

There will be a free service and two levels of paid services — Earth Plus for $20 a year and Earth Pro for $400. The higher levels get you higher resolution photos and tech support.

And I predict that it will be a huge success, after the Mac OS X port is released!

The irony of me posting this is almost too much.

Oh, but Dave, you’ve obviously been “protected” by the anti-spyware tool that is Tiger. Gosh, you must feel safe. I’m coming to believe you about Tiger — it’s hard to write a virus for something that doesn’t run anything.

  2. Amazing….. wow……

Maximum zoom on Guggenheim Museum, bilbao, Spain….
