In-Flight Wi-Fi
By Deane Barker on June 7, 2005
United is cleared to offer Wi-Fi on domestic flights: Can we never get away from the Net? Airplane trips were always pretty relaxing because nothing could bug you up there.
The airline expects to have Wi-Fi up and running in mid- to late 2006, letting passengers check e-mail, send instant messages and surf the Web while airborne.
I suppose, however, that long flights are a good place to get stuff done. And with Skype, does this mean you could have VoIP phone service as well?
I think that German-based Lufthansa has introduced a simmilar feature some time ago…
