Carrying the Football

Military aides still carry the president’s nuclear ‘football’: Here’s an article about the briefcase that contains all the “nuclear codes” (whatever they are) and how it has to be kept close to the president at all times. Surprisingly, they mention a brand name:

The bags are manufactured by Utah-based Zero Halliburton, which makes much of the fact that its aluminum cases appear in movies including “Men in Black” and “Spy Kids.” Otherwise, the company stays mum about what may be the ultimate in product placement.

Here’s the Zero Halliburton site where briefcases start at $225 and a “carbon fiber attache” will set you back $1,925 (the model number is ominous: “P4-Stealth”).
