Evil Overlords and Floppy Disks

Peter’s Evil Overlord List: This is an absolute classic of the Internet. It’s a list of things NOT to do if you become an evil overload. Number ninety-nine is the best:

Any data file of crucial importance will be padded to 1.45Mb in size.

Though Flash drives are probably making this one archaic.

  1. Whoa, old news. Good, but old. I have this list stored on my calculator for quick reference. My favorite (from memory):

I will keep a realistic assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Although this takes some of the fun out of the job, at least I’ll never have to utter the phrase “No! This cannot be! I AM INVINCIBLE!” (After this, death is usually instantaneous.)

  2. The funny thing is, Anspach copyrighted the list, but readily admits he didn’t actually have anything to do with the list’s origins, while another guy entirely admits that he was one of the lists originators, but never felt it was worth copyrighting.
