TinyApps.Org: A great little of archive of small software that generally do one thing well.

Welcome to TinyApps.Org, a guide to very small software for your PC. Virtually all of the programs listed here are free of charge and for use under Windows.

I love their little icon (what is it? a clover?) for “The Green Award.” It’s given to software that (1) doesn’t require installation, (2) doesn’t write to the registry, and (3) doesn’t need or affect files outside its own directory.

As I work with IT more and more, I become so much more convinced of the need for “small pieces, loosely joined.”
