The NFL today announced a deal with Audible to provide recordings of the remaining playoff games for purchase through the iTunes Music Store and other audio content sites. I have to admit that if my team won the Super Bowl I’d probably buy it just for posterity. In fact I recently converted a Real Audio stream of the Capital One Bowl to an MP3 file so I can relive the last few seconds of the game on my iPod whenever I want and irritate my Gopher loving colleagues whenever necessary.
I honestly believe that there is great potential here. Just like being able to buy a CD of a concert you attended, there is a lot of money to be made in selling audio and video of memorable sporting events.
