IBM to Drop PCs?

NYT: IBM putting its PC business on the block: Looks like that Gartner report was right on the money.

IBM, now the No. 3 PC maker behind Dell Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co., is likely to include all of its desktop and laptop computers in the sale, which could earn it between $1 billion and $2 billion, people close to the negotiations told the newspaper.

Remember that this company is the reason the term “IBM-compatible” was invented.
