Jonah Peretti has converted a junker Oldsmobile into the GnuMobile, a Linux-powered car.

Of course, the most interesting part of the car is what’s under the hood — or at least under the dashboard. This is the first car that you can drive entirely from the command line, although right now it is a rather jerky ride that we could only attempt in an empty parking lot.

In an unrelated story, Jonah’s insurance provider has mysteriously revoked his policy.
