The Q

By Deane Barker on June 13, 2004

Segway a little too expensive for you? Perhaps $1,000 for a Q from Rad2Go might work.

It looks a lot like a Segway, but does without the patented self-righting gyroscope — it uses a much less voodoo-like concept involving two extra wheels in the back. You can order last year’s models for $900, and they go at 10 m.p.h. for 18 miles before needed a recharge.

I found a couple new ones displayed next to the lawnmowers at a regional department store chain. Sticker price was $1,082.
