Subliminal Marketing at MS

A Microsoft page advertising security training for IT professionals uses a photo of a 15” Apple PowerBook G4 — with the Apple logo Photoshopped out — in the header. On the left side of the laptop you can plainly see lined up from back to front the headphone jack, a ventillation port, the cardbus slot, the cardbus eject button, and near the front a clear plastic insert, just as they are arranged on the Titanium PowerBook I’m using right now.

One has to ask, do they use the Apple hardware because it’s better looking than any Wintel hardware they could get their hands on, or because it’s the better answer to network security?
