New Tools for Web Services

Web Services Get Managed: It’s always interesting how a new technology creates a brand-new industry angle.

“…[the] company’s SIFT (service instrumentation, filtering and tracking) tool monitors and analyzes the performance of transactions that use Web services and pinpoints the source of performance problems across each component in the Web services infrastructure.”

This, I’m sure, is the first of many new commercial Web services tools. Is the advent of these tools an initiation of sorts? If you have no third-party innovation, are you really a player?
