Speculation on a Google IPO

By Deane Barker on October 13, 2003

Waiting For the Big One: People are talking about Google IPO as if it’s the Second Coming.

“It’s difficult to precisely estimate the offering’s potential size. The whispering in the Valley is that Google’s revenues this year could be in the range of $700 million to $1 billion, with profits well north of $100 million. […] Assume $700 million in revenue for Google and a comparable valuation and it’s not hard to imagine a starting market cap of $14 billion; estimates in the press have ranged as high as $18 billion.

So, start saving those pennies: The Google IPO should be no more than six months away.”

  1. Deane…please buy this stock when it comes out. I can’t keep hearing that sad ‘Gateway stock that got away’ story.

    By the way, last trade…$6.37.

  2. How do you think the ipo will be let out, What about all this auction talk any info out there from any source?????
