G5 “Unbelievably Powerful”

A NewsFactor article has lots of good things to say about Apple’s new G5 machines.

“According to results on industry standard benchmark tests, the G5 is not only faster than comparable machines, but quite a bit faster.”

And it looks like the tech writers might finally be understanding what many in the Mac community have known for a long time; Macs are not only a viable alternative to Wintel machines in terms of price, use of open-standards hardware, and power, but they might prove to be the better option.

“But in a market where a lot of organizations want alternatives to Wintel-based machines, Apple represents an untapped opportunity.”
