Print Your Own Monopoly Money

By Deane Barker on September 25, 2003

Welcome to Monopoly.com!: This may seem a odd thing for a tech blog to write about, but it’s a perfect example of a great use of the Internet.

“The more money you have, the easier it is to own it all — so print your own! Just click on the image of the money you want to find a whole page-full.”

Hasbro has released a PDF of the bills from the Monopoly game, so if you run out of money, lose it, or the dog eats it or something, you can print some more. What a great thing for a company to do — it enhances their products, and makes their customers happy, while costing them close to nothing.

In contrast, the other day I had a piece of equipment and didn’t know how to use it. I looked over the manufacturer’s site for 30 minutes, but couldn’t find the product manual. In my mind, have all your product manuals freely available as PDFs on your Web site is almost mandatory. Companies that don’t do this are essentially flipping their customers the bird.

Vendors need to understand this: I am much more likely to buy your stuff if I see support documents or a user support forum on your Web site.
