Study: Linux Not Working on the Desktop

Desktop Linux Could Be Costly: I believe this. I will probably always run Windows on the desktop, though I make an effort to use non-Microsoft applications.

“Using a Linux operating system might save you money on your servers, but most enterprises shouldn’t expect to see the same cost saving if they switch their Microsoft Windows desktops over, a report from Gartner said Wednesday.”

I tried Linux on the desktop once, but just couldn’t make it work well enough to have it be anything more than a cool novelty that I was using something other than Windows.
