Communicate.com to Receive $1 Million for Four Domain Names: After Business.com went for $7.5 million back in 2000, I haven’t heard of any big domain name sales until now.
“An e-commerce company, Communicate.com Inc….has entered into an agreement to sell Automobile.com, Exercise.com, Body.com and Makeup.com for $1 million to Manhattan Assets, Inc. …Communicate also announced that it will retain a five percent perpetual royalty on gross sales generated from the four domains — with a guaranteed minimum monthly royalty of $10,000 — after the $1 million total purchase price has been received.”

I was looking for a reference to the Business.com domain name sale for this item, when I found this from 1997:
http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,4396,00.html
"Just last week, business.com sold for a record $150,000."
5,000% increase in three years. Not bad.
