Facebook Message Fee

Facebook Test Will Let You Message Strangers for $1: My first instinct was horror, but then I reconsidered.
Facebook is testing a feature that will let select users pay $1 to send messages to people with whom they have no connection on the social network.
This seems reasonable to me. At $1/message, no one is going to spam, and that’s a decent price point – if someone has paid $1, especially if they’re sending to multiple people at $1/per, then the message must mean something to them, and isn’t a throwaway message.
I support it, and I’m frankly grateful to Facebook for trying it. It’ll be fascinating to see if it takes hold.

Seems a bit creepy to me.
