Acquia takes web experience management plunge: It’s nice to see an open-source platform take WEM/CXM seriously. This has been a significant hole in the open-source CMS world for a while. Open-source systems haven’t made near the inroads into this world that commercial systems have.
Acquia, the for-profit company that supports the Drupal open source web content management has announced it’s entering the web experience management market. The new product is called OpenWEM and combines several tools into a web experience management solution.
It sounds like they’re pursuing a modular, plug-in model, whereby you integrate other products on top of Drupal.
