Wikipedia : I had no idea this existed.  It’s for either children or non-native English speakers.

Wikipedias are places where people work together to write encyclopedias in different languages. We use simple English words and grammar here. The Simple English Wikipedia is for everyone! That includes children and adults who are learning English.

It's handy for those who speak natively speak English as well. I use it on occasion to look up definitions of things when I don't care enough to read large chunks of complicated text to try to gain a reasonable understanding. An entire page and others it links to....or a few sentences on a Simple page.
