Windows Vista Details Leaked

Home

Microsoft blunder leaks information about Vista: Microsoft accidentally published a page on its site that leaked details of the upcoming Vista. (This is why you need good content management, people.)

Apparently there are going to be six primary versions of Vista.

Included in those listed offerings was Windows Starter 2007, a stripped-down version for emerging markets to offer an alternative for pirated software. There was also a basic and premium edition for the home as well as versions for both businesses and large corporations, according to the reports.

The Web site also listed a high-end product named Windows Vista Ultimate that targets gamers and heavy multimedia users, reports said.

Good grief; as if the XP Home/XP Pro game wasn’t enough to fatten their coffers. Is there really any benefit (other than profit) in dumbing down the OS for some users?

I suppose there will be different price points for all six variants of Vista, hopefully not with $100 increments as there is now.

What a great time for Novell to release NLD10, a real linux solution to Windows. After reviewing beta4 of NLD10 I am more than ready for the full release. The interface is extremely simple to use, and the media center is fantastic. I could not find a reason to use cross over with NLD10, as whatever I needed to do, Novell had a program on this to do it. If you are a small or meduim business take a look at NLD10. The Linux OS is still not ready for the heavy gamers, but it is more than ready for the office and the regular home user. Good job Novell!!!!
