Fog Creek Software Management Training Program: I wish I lived in New York. Can you just imagine how much you’d learn with these guys?
Our latest thinking is just to train a new generation of leaders from the ground up.
To that end, today we’re launching an experimental new program, the Fog Creek Software Management Training Program. That’s a terrible name, but bear with me!
It’s an entry level program, meaning, significant work experience is not required. A college degree is a big plus. The program will last about three years. It will provide experience working in all aspects of software development except for the actual coding itself, along with some formal training.
If it’s not obvious to everyone by now, Fog Creek Software is my kind of company. I follow Spolsky pretty regularly, and I’ll freely attest that his company is what I hope to build one day. From how they treat their employees to their offices to their intern program — that’s the direction I keep trying to point myself in.
I’m a Spolsky groupie.

What difference would that make? It was a full-time job. Just as with any full-time job, if you’re hired, you move to where the job is.
