Ford mines consumers’ wants: This is pretty brilliant. Ford is using a Web site to let people outfit fantasy Fusions — a new sedan coming next year. But they’re not just throwing away the data.
It’s an attempt to more closely align consumer demand with actual production, which often can be difficult.
The company is letting virtual shoppers build their own Fusions on the Web, including pricing options and picking colors. At the end, people are asked to fill out a survey giving their thoughts on what else they’d like to see on the cars.
So if 60% of the people make fake Fusions in the color blue, guess what color the majority of real Fusions will be?
Time for all hackers to unite and demand hot pink with 8-track players!
Ford's idea and drmthtr's comment are both brilliant
What about fake wood?
