Search wars hit desktop computers: This will be interesting.
Microsoft has the infrastructure in place already — their Indexing Service works in the background all day long. I’ve been able to do some great things with it in on ASP-based servers (good tutorial on it here, BTW).
John Connors, Microsoft’s chief financial officer said a test version of its desktop search software should be available for download by the end of the year.
