Author Quest: If you’ve ever wanted to break into the world of technical book writing, here’s your chance. David Pogue of The Missing Manual fame is looking for his next author:

“If this sounds interesting to you, I’d like to give you an assignment. I can’t think of any other way to gauge what your work might be like. The assignment is to write an excerpt from a Missing Manual: a discussion of using and understanding tab stops in Microsoft Word. This sample can be as long or as short as necessary. It can cover either the Mac or Windows version of Word (I’m looking for both kinds of authors). The goal is to help both the beginner and the power user understand the different kind of tab stops, how the default tab stops work, and so on.”

Alas, I know nothing about tab stops in Word.
