Macromedia Flex (previously code-named Royale) extends the Macromedia MX platform by delivering a standards-based programming methodology for building the presentation tier of Rich Internet Applications.
There’s even a markup language MXML: Macromedia FLex Markup Language. What’s gonna be scary is watching graphic artists transition to programming. I never thought I’d see an article entitled “Extending Design Patterns into RIA” having anything to do with Flash.
And it remotely-related news, Adobe’s attempt at a Flash Killer — LiveMotion — was pulled today. I don’t know whether that helps or hurts Microsoft’s Sparkle.
